Pancreatic Cancer Awareness

 Thanks for checking back for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness info! I have sewed up three purple awareness bags for my cousins and one that they will be donating to an upcoming event! My cousin Stacy let me know what is going on this month to raise awareness. All of the titles below are links to the associated websites!


Purple Passion and Fashion 2011

One of my purple bags will be at the silent auction!

This is a fashion show and silent auction. There will be appetizers, cocktails and desserts. All proceeds go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. It is taking place in Milwaukee, WI on November 12. The tickets are $40 if you register online and $50 at the door. Children ages 3-17 are $15 online and at the door. PurpleLight Milwaukee

This is a free event featuring a vigil honoring those that have passed from pancreatic cancer, and survivors of the disease. You can register online for the event by clicking on the above link. The glow sticks will be dristributed to everyone there, registering allows those organizing the event to know how many glow sticks they will need!


High Five Campaign

This is a fundraiser that Stacy, another teacher and some Cudahy High School students have been organizing. Their goal is to raise $5,000 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network throughout the month of November.  I think we are around $1200 or so right now, but we are still having a building-wide bake sale, a t-shirt sale, a change drive, and a little awareness walk.  The link to the facebook group is attached here, as well as the facebook group for the t-shirt sale!



You can find tons of November Pancreatic Cancer Awareness at www.pancan.org and click on "Find a Local Event" in the orange "Get Involved" box at the bottom of the page. That way, you can find awareness events all around the country!
